Faridabad-Gurugram Metro Train: MLA Neeraj Sharma’s campaign

Faridabad-Gurugram Metro Train: Ranga MLA Neeraj Sharma’s campaign, will again survey the Faridabad-Gurugram Metro route.

Faridabad-Gurugram Metro Train: The route survey of the metro rail connecting Faridabad to Gurugram will once again take place. Due to all-round protests, on the orders of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar has asked for a report of the new route by 10 August.

The Haryana government has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) of the 30.38 km Faridabad-Gurugram Metro Rail and sent it to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Detailed information regarding this DPR was kept by the Principal Secretary, Urban and Planning Department, Apoorva Kumar Singh, in the meeting of the Committee on Public Undertakings of the Legislative Assembly. After this, Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma from NIT Faridabad objected to its route.

Significantly, the Haryana government had decided three routes between Faridabad and Gurugram. The first two of these routes were such that from Piali Chowk coming to the NIT assembly constituency, via Barkhal Enclave, went towards Gurugram.

The third route was going straight from Bata Chowk in Faridabad to the underground Aravali Golf Course then to Badkhal Enclave (Sainik Colony) Gurugram. In DPR sent to DMRC, the government decided the third route. It has to cost a thousand crore rupees more than the first two routes.

NIT MLA Neeraj Sharma, who is based in Faridabad parliamentary constituency, raised the issue that Piali Chowk Ballabgarh, Barkhal and NIT are the centers of about one million people in the three assembly constituencies. In such a situation, if the metro goes through this route, then surely more people will benefit from it.

On Neeraj Sharma’s argument, Transport Minister and Ballabhgarh MLA Moolchand Sharma also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Lal and agreed that the route of the metro should be decided from Piali Chowk itself.

Neeraj Sharma also made a demand to Chief Minister Manohar Lal by giving a letter in this regard in Chandigarh late Tuesday. On the orders of the Chief Minister, now his Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar has sought a report by 10 August after conducting a survey of this route again.
