Exports Are Likely To Be Affected In The Second Covid Wave

Exports are likely to be affected in the second wave, the country may suffer due to the wrong image, because of the epidemic.

The wrong picture being spread about the current wave of corona epidemic in India has raised the possibility of affecting the country’s export orders.

Foreign buyers are promising timely delivery from orders to Indian exporters. They fear that Indian producers will not be able to supply on time. China seems to be benefiting from this situation.

Export orders from other countries to China have increased.

Lalit Thukral, chairman of the Northern Region of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), said that foreign buyers of the garment have started asking him questions about delivery.

Buyers from other countries are feeling that due to the spread of Corona in India, the exporters here will not be able to complete the work on time.

At present, there is no shortage of export orders, but the way in which doubts are being created in the minds of foreign buyers, further orders may be affected.

Recently, China has questioned India’s exports of marine products such as fish, etc. due to corona infection. It can also cause side effects.

Exporters said that the corona infection is being exaggerated in India abroad, while export-linked production in any state has not been allowed to be affected during the second wave. The supply chain also remains constant.

Exports are likely to be affected: However, exporters from other sectors do not see any possibility of orders being affected due to corona.

Jalandhar-based exporter of engineering goods Ashwani Kumar said that due to corona there has been a reduction in the availability of workers by 30-40 percent, but the exporters are trying their best to deliver on time.

Some buyers threaten to cancel the order if they do not deliver on time, but they do not do so, as the relationship between the buyer and the exporter in the export sector is old.

According to the foreign trade expert, China is benefiting from the second wave of Corona in India.

Export orders from other countries to China have increased by 32.5% in April 2021 as compared to April last year. Earlier in March, it had increased by 30.6 percent.
