Excise Policy Of Kejriwal Government Will Be Investigated By CBI

Excise policy of Kejriwal government will be investigated by CBI, LG recommends.

There may be a CBI inquiry into the excise policy of the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi, as LG Vinay Kumar Saxena has recommended it.

A CBI official said that Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has recommended a CBI inquiry into the Kejriwal government’s Excise Policy 2021-22 for violation of rules and procedural lapses.

According to CBI sources, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has written a letter to the CBI for investigation in view of the possibilities of alleged fraud in the excise policy case.

If sources are to be believed, there is an allegation of rigging in the distribution of licenses of liquor shops in Delhi.

If sources in the CBI headquarters are to be believed, then after this decision of Lieutenant Governor Saxena, the problems of some ministers of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government may increase.

Not only this, but the license system issued for liquor shops may also come under scrutiny. There are allegations of commission transactions of crores of rupees for liquor shops.

It is believed that after this decision of Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, the tussle between the Delhi government and the LG may increase further.

Even before this, there has been a dispute between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor on the issue of returning many files.

There was also a tussle when the LG did not approve Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Singapore.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doing “petty politics” after Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K.  Saxena refused to approve Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s offer to visit Singapore.

AAP MLAs Atishi and Durgesh Pathak claimed during a press conference at the party headquarters that the Lt Governor did not approve of Kejriwal’s foreign travel as the prime minister was “scared” of his (Kejriwal’s) growing popularity.

In fact, the Singapore government has invited Arvind Kejriwal to attend the ‘World Cities’ summit to be held in the first week of August.”

But the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has turned back his request saying that his presence at the mayors’ conference is a must, and will set a ‘bad precedent’.
