England Team Can Give Chance To Moin Ali And Ben Stokes

England team can give chance to Moin Ali and Ben Stokes in the second test match against India.

England head coach Chris Silverwood has said that all-rounder Moeen Ali is “definitely” being considered for the second Test against India, starting August 12.

At Lord’s England’s batting was not good in the first Test and the presence of Moeen Ali in the team will give the required depth to the hosts as the team does not have any good all-rounders.

Ben Stokes is also not a part of this series due to mental health.

England head coach Chris Silverwood told Cricinfo: “Moeen Ali is definitely under consideration. He’s always been a part of our idea.

So that’s something that Joe Root and I are going to talk about at Lord’s.

We know he is a good cricketer and we know he is showing good form in The Hundred at the moment, although I appreciate it is a different format.”

Moeen Ali has not been playing Test cricket for a long time and he may go into the second Test match.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had confirmed in July this year that all-rounder Ben Stokes would take an indefinite break from all cricket with immediate effect.

Regarding this, the coach said, “All-rounders like Ben Stokes or Chris Woakes usually give you all-round options.

Unfortunately, we have found ourselves squeezed by the conditions lately and we are not able to do that.

Can Moeen Ali play in Lord’s? All I would say is that my mind is not closed to anything. If it fits and works for the team then we have to consider it.”

The England team has made up its mind to include not only Moeen Ali but also Haseeb Hameed in the team.

Haseeb Hameed is a leg break bowler and helps spinners at Lord’s. In such a situation, the team can also give place to Moeen Ali and Haseeb Hameed in the playing XI.
