England defeated South Africa by 41 Runs: ENG vs SA. England took the anger out of India’s defeat on South Africa and won the first T20 by scoring the second highest score.

England took the anger out of India’s recent T20 series defeat on South Africa and beat the visiting team by 41 runs in the first T20, making the second highest score in their T20 history.

Batting first in this match held in Bristol, England scored 234 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the South African team could only score 193 runs for 8 wickets.

Tristan Stubbs scored 72 runs for South Africa. But, he too could not avoid the defeat of his team. The heroes of England’s victory were Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali.

Jonny Bairstow has been in tremendous form this year. Bairstow, who has scored 4 centuries in 3 Tests, is also batting amazingly in ODIs and T20s.

Bairstow scored 90 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 169. He hit 8 sixes in his innings. Moeen Ali scored 52 runs in 18 balls with the help of 6 sixes.

England’s batsmen hit 18 sixes. This is the record for most sixes for England in a T20.

Stubbs scored 72 runs in the first international innings.

South Africa got the target of 235 runs in 20 overs. The African team remained in the race to chase down their biggest target in the 18th over thanks to the fiery innings of Tristan Stubbs.

Stubbs batted brilliantly in his first international innings. He scored 72 runs in just 28 balls. Stubbs hit 8 sixes in these innings.

He shared a 65-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen and 50 with David Miller. However, this partnership also proved insufficient for South Africa to win.

Stubbs was dismissed in the 19th over by Richard Gleason.
