Encounter between police and Naxalites in Bijapur forests, killed Janamilisia commander.

There are reports of an encounter between police and Naxalites in the jungles of Darbha region of Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

According to the information, a commander of mass militia has been killed in this encounter. This encounter took place in Kutru police station this morning.

During the encounter, firing continued from both of them for a long time. After this, the Naxalites fled from there.

During the field search after the incident, the body of a uniformed Naxalite commander and some weapons and daily use materials have been rammed from the site.

The slain Naxalite commander has been identified as Santosh Podium.

Confirming the incident, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamal Lochan Kashyap said that the jawans of the District Reserve Force and District Police had gone out on a search in view of the presence of Naxalites in the Kuru police station area.

Meanwhile, the Naxalites present there saw the police party coming towards them and started firing on them. The Jawans started retaliating.

Meanwhile, bullets continued to be fired from both sides for a long time. After some time, the Naxalites, finding themselves weak, ran away from there, taking cover of the trees.

Later on, inspecting the site of the incident, the body of Naxalite commander Santosh Podium was recovered. A reward of one lakh rupees was declared on the slain Janmillis commander.

Rifle, Pittu, Naxalite material and daily use of the same have been recovered from the spot.

The slain Naxalite commander has been involved in several Naxal incidents in Kutru and Jangla areas, including the killing of an ASI and Ranger.

Three Naxalites awarded for one lakh surrendered

Three rewarded Naxalites operating in the Tekalyan and Aranpur police stations surrendered to reach the district headquarters on Tuesday evening.

He is accused of being involved in several incidents including murder, kidnapping, road cutting.

The three Naxalites who surrendered under the Lone Varratu (Return Home) campaign were declared a reward of one lakh rupees under the policies of the regime.

After the surrender of the Karli police line, all three have given important information regarding the big Naxalite leaders.
