Dr Farooq Abdullah condoles the death of the girl, lashed out at the careless officers: Jammu Kashmir.

National Conference President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah said on Saturday that the development of the nation should not be at the cost of environment.

Along with this, he condoled the incident of a four-year-old girl being killed by a leopard in Budgam and said that strict action should be taken against the officials who were negligent in this matter.

On World Environment Day, Dr. Abdullah said that due to reckless human activities in the form of  deforestation, water and air pollution and excessive use of natural resources, the natural balance in the environment is in danger.

The former Chief Minister said that due to human greed, the climate of Kashmir is getting worse. We all have to inculcate environmental ethics in ourselves and the generations to come.

Since we live in a place that has immense potential for tourism, it becomes even more important for all of us, especially the youth, to keep our surroundings clean.
