DM Rajnath Singh Meets Iranian Defence Minister

DM Rajnath Singh meets the Iranian Defence Minister, discusses issues of bilateral cooperation. Before leaving for Iran, Rajnath Singh also had a bilateral meeting with the defense ministers of Kazakhstan Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

DM Rajnath Singh, who visited Iran, met Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Aamir Hatami. During this time bilateral defense relations between the two countries were discussed. Rajnath Singh has tweeted that the meeting was successful. Rajnath Singh arrived in Iran on Saturday after attending a meeting of Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Russia.

The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, tweeted, “Tehran had a very successful meeting with Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami. The issue of regional security was also discussed between the defense ministers of the two countries, including the issue of restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Addressing the SCO meeting on Friday, the Defense Minister appealed to the Gulf countries to resolve mutual differences through dialogue. He had said that all the countries of the region are close to India and India is worried about the state of tension that is building there. All parties should resolve the dialogue with respect to each other.

Rajnath Singh also had a bilateral meeting with the defense ministers of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan before leaving for Moscow to Iran. During this time India’s bilateral defense relations with these countries were discussed.
