Disgruntled leaders are unhappy with the committee formed. G-23 is unhappy with the committee formed on the defeat of Congress in five states, know what is the reason.
In the midst of the internal politics of the Congress, the disgruntled leaders (G-23 camp) of the party is considering the appointment of senior leader GN Azad as the President of the Corona Task Force of the Congress as a positive step of leadership .
But does not look satisfied with the decesion of high command to form a five-member committee constituted to access the loss in five states
According to the dissident camp, instead of forming separate groups for the defeat of each state, a single committee has been formed for all. Therefore, it is feared that instead of deep investigation of the defeat, it can be smudged.
There will not be a factual investigation of the defeat in 15 days.
According to disgruntled camp leaders, the Congress Working Committee meeting held on May 10, which the Congress president had sincerely reviewed the defeat.
This was indicative of the fact that the factual results of the election results of Bengal, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry were being considered.
Four separate committees should have been formed for investigation. But the party announced on Tuesday to form a single group for all these states.
Manish Tiwari, a prominent leader of the G-23, is also included in the group formed on the debacle, but even then the dissident camp has its own apprehensions.
A senior dissident leader said that there should be a group for each state. The committee may prove to be a fact-hiding fact instead of exposing the reasons for the defeat
At present, the factual review of each state is not possible to visit different regions of the four states during the 15 days and interact with the leaders on the ground situation due to the current state of Covid .
In such a situation, instead of exposing the reasons for the defeat, it can prove to be a fact-hiding committee.
The five-member group formed to review the defeat is headed by Ashok Chavan, a former CM of Maharashtra and a minister in the Thackeray government.
Apart from Manish Tiwari, it includes Salman Khurshid and Lok Sabha members Vincent Pala and Jyoti Mani. Disgruntled leaders said party is taking positive steps to hand over the command of covid Task Force to Azad.
While the disgruntled camp is skeptical about the group’s possible findings, but is considering the signs of positive leadership to bring Nabi Azad back to the Congress policy.
However, it also says that the early signs of bridging the distance from Azad and disgruntled leaders would be too early for Congress to come to a conclusion to address the current serious crisis.
This is also because the discussion on the solution to the real issues related to the organizational weaknesses and working style of the party has not even started yet.
When given the command of the Covid Task Force to Azad, the dissident camp leaders said that this is a good move.
Azad also has long experience in relief in disasters and pandemics and in dealing with different types of challenges of the crisis.
Azad’s relief and disaster management were noted after the devastation caused by the 1999 storm in Odisha and the loss of life and property due to the 2005 earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir.
After retiring from Rajya Sabha this February, the party gave this first responsibility to Azad.
