Digvijay Singh Said – No Expectation From The President

Digvijay Singh said – no expectation from the President regarding agricultural laws.

Even before the Opposition leaders’ meeting with President Ram Nath Kovind, Congress leader Digvijay Singh tweeted that he had ‘no hope’ from the President.

The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that opposition leaders should initiate dialogue with all NDA allies who have supported the farmers in the past.

Citing an example, Digvijay Singh said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar may pressurize Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the agricultural laws.

Simultaneously, soon after the Bihar election results, in which the Congress showed poor performance, Singh invited Nitish to rejoin the grand alliance to fulfill his ‘national aspirations’.

CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury told the leading news agency that a team of prominent leaders would meet President Ram Nath Kovind at 5 pm on Wednesday.

They will express their opposition to the three agricultural laws approved by Parliament.

It was said that representatives of 11 parties wanted to meet the President, but only 5 leaders would be allowed to meet in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Not allowed due to COVID-19 protocol.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, DMK’s TR Baalu , and CPI representative are expected to be part of the opposition delegation.

Let me tell you that the deadlock on the new agricultural laws has increased and due to this, the sixth round of talks between the farmer leaders and the government on Wednesday has been postponed.

After the Bharat Bandh was organized and before the talks, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with 13 farmer leaders on Tuesday evening to break the deadlock.

In this, the farmers’ organizations remained adamant on repealing the new agricultural laws, but the government says that it is not possible to cancel the laws, they can be amended.

The government will submit these amendment proposals on Wednesday and after discussing them, the farmers associations will decide on their next steps.
