DG AFMS Visited Army Command Hospital In Kolkata

DG AFMS visited Army Command Hospital in Kolkata. Lt. General Anoop Banerjee, Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), inspected the Command Hospital of Eastern Army Command in Kolkata and Base Hospital in Barrackpore.

He reviewed medical services, COVID-19 protocol, and case management here and received feedback about existing facilities. During this time, he strongly appreciated the service work of Corona Warriors in dealing with the global epidemic and presented silver salvers to both the hospitals as a token of appreciation.

Lieutenant General Banerjee, during this time, urged all the health care workers of both the hospitals to continue their efforts as per the regimental motto ‘Survey Santu Niramaya’.

During the inspection, he also inaugurated the State of the Art Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery Center and Gamma Camera set up at the Nuclear Medicine Center at Command Hospital Kolkata.

He hoped that this new service would further increase patients’ satisfaction. It is noteworthy that this was Banerjee’s first visit to Kolkata after taking over as DG AFMS (Armed Forces Medical Services) in November 2019, in which he oversaw the Army’s Command Hospital and Base Hospital.

Banerjee is also the Honorary Surgeon of the President of the country. On 27 January this year, he was appointed Honorary Surgeon of the President.

Meanwhile to protect against corona, washing hands and keeping the surface clean has been considered important so far. However, using a mask is even more important than washing hands.
