Delimitation report and hijab controversy created by BJP, BJP raised this agenda of hijab controversy for electoral gains: Mehbooba Mufti.

Mehbooba Mufti, president of the Peoples Democratic Party and former chief minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

On Saturday she alleged the interim report of the Delimitation Commission for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the hijab controversy in Karnataka, created by BJP.

Both the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the BJP have prepared this agenda itself to keep the BJP in power.

Speaking to reporters after addressing a meeting of party workers at Ladarvan (Kupwara) in north Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti said that the BJP is bent on communal polarization across the country.

She said that looking at the elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, we can say that the BJP has fueled the hijab controversy as part of a conspiracy only for electoral gains.

The draft of the delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir has also been prepared to keep in view the electoral benefits in different parts of the country.

She said that all political leaders across the country should unite against this. The controversy that has arisen regarding the hijab should not frighten the girl students.

It is a part of the Muslim dress code and culture. BJP and RSS want to convert Gandhi’s India into Godse’s India. BJP is bent on making everyone’s life difficult.

The controversy over the hijab has been created with the intention of benefitting the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Responding to a question on delimitation, she said that the proposed interim report of the Delimitation Commission has created anarchy which only benefits the BJP.

Not only in Kashmir, people in Rajouri-Poonch, Doda, and Jammu are also unhappy with this report. Rajouri-Poonch should be separated after 2026.

Apart from this, there should also be two separate MPs for Rajouri, Poonch, and Doda-Kishtwar.

BJP is dividing people only for its own benefit. The interim report of the Delimitation Commission also indicates something similar.
