Method: Marinate the fish with half a teaspoon of turmeric, two teaspoons of garlic paste, and salt as per taste.
To make the masala, make a paste of 1 teaspoon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 inch piece of ginger, and 1 teaspoon garlic.
Now add red chili powder and panch phoron to this mixture. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Gently put the marinated fish in the pan and fry the fish lightly on both sides.
After frying, take out the fish and keep it on a plate.
Add spices to the same oil and fry for two minutes. Now add tomato paste to it and mix well. Cook the masala until the oil separates from the tomato masala. This will take 8-10 minutes.
Now add 2 cups of water to the pan and let it boil. Cook the gravy for 4-5 minutes.
Now add the fried fish in thin gravy along with chopped coriander. Add salt as per taste and cook for 4-5 more minutes.
