Delhi Metro expansion plans are in full swing. As part of this, Delhi Metro Corporation is working on the development of the Delhi Metro Circle Line.
Upon completion of this expansion project, the DMRC Pink Line will be India’s first circular subway.
After a 12.55 km extension, the Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor will be the longest metro line with a total length of 71.15 km.

The Majlis-Park-Maujpur Pink Line Corridor will help alleviate road congestion and improve transport connectivity in the metropolitan area.
When the Metro Ring Corridor is completed, the service will be accessible to passengers in Delhi’s satellite cities, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh.

Ring Metro is one of the DMRC’s most important projects. It connects several corridors including East Delhi, West Delhi, North Delhi and South Delhi.
Reportedly, the corridor will also have an overpass built under the subway line, so passengers will be able to take the three-story subway.

Delhi Ring Metro includes many stations such as Burari Station, Jharoda Station, Jagatpur Village Station, Surghat Station, Sonia Vihar Station, Khajuri Khas Station, Bhajanpura Station, Yamuna Vihar Station and Maujpur-Babarpur Station.
In the Majlis Park-Maujpur Corridor, the number of metro stops on the Ring Road will be increased to 8, bringing the total number of stops to 47.
There are 11 transit stations connecting the Pink Line with other Delhi Metro lines.
The Pink Line expansion is part of the DMRC Phase 4 development plan.
The project was scheduled to be completed by September 2023, but after some delays, the corridor is expected to be completed by June 2024.
A design-build approach is used for this project. The DMRC contracted a group of three companies for this addition.

With the completion of this important Delhi Metro project, the Majlis Park-Maujpur Line, Delhi Metro joins the list of cities around the world with over 400 km of metro systems.
Please note that this list currently includes cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Moscow and London.
