In the year 2020, there were web series based on real-life stories to literature and fictional stories on OTT platforms but space was dominated by crime-based web series.

- ‘1992 scam ‘
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s web series “Scam 1992: Harshad Mehta Story ranks first on IMDB’s Top 10 list with a 9.5 rating.
Scam 1992 is the biopic of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, in which Prateik Gandhi played his role.
- ‘Panchayat’
Amazon Prime Video’s comedy drama series Panchayat, made under the banner of The Viral Fever Production, has been ranked second with an 8.7 rating.
Let us tell you that in the recent OTT Filmfare Award, the Panchayat was awarded the Best Comity Web Series Award.
The strongest cast in this series is its star cast. Along with Raghuveer Yadav and Neena Gupta, TVF’s well-known face Jitendra Kumar is present.
The series lightly touches some serious themes of the rural environment.
- ‘Special Ops’
Disney Plus Hotstar has series special ops at number three with an 8.6 rating. This spy thriller is produced by Neeraj Pandey.
The web series contains the story of the 2001 Parliament attack and the capture of the attack mastermind. KK Menon plays the lead character.
- ‘Bandish Bandits’
Bandish Bandits finished fourth with an 8.5 rating. The series revolves around a classical music student named Radhey and a pop singer named Tamanna.
Both of them come from two very different worlds of music and then both embark on their journey of discovery.
The series featured Naseeruddin Shah, Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhary in the lead roles.
The series was directed by Anand Tiwari and the series has been released on Amazon Prime Video.
- ‘Mirzapur’ Season 2
The highly popular second season of Mirzapur is ranked fifth with an 8.4 rating. In Mirzapur 2, the rivalry of Kaalin Bhaiya and Guddu Bhaiya was carried forward.
Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Shweta Tripathi played the lead roles. Part 2 was directed by Gurmeet Singh and Mihir Desai.
- ‘Asur’
Voot Select’s thriller Asura – Welcome to Your Dark Side was ranked seventh with an 8.4 rating. The series revolves around serial killings.
The web series is based in Varanasi. The story of the series revolves around forensic expert Nikhil Nair.
He returns to the CBI to capture a brutal serial killer. This web series has been made under the direction of Oni Sen.
- Patal lok
The web series Patal Lok, produced under the banner of Anushka Sharma Productions, stood at number six with an 8.3 rating.
The series was released on Amazon Prime Video. In the series Jaideep Ahlawat played the role of Delhi Police Inspector Hathiram Choudhary.
He is given a case in which he uncovers a conspiracy to assassinate a journalist.

Akshay Oberoi is ranked eighth in the series high list of Starr MX Players with an 8.2 rating.
Akshay has played the role of a drug addict. He finds himself in a shelter home, which is being run in a mysterious compound.
