Congress Leader Siddaramaiah Took A Jibe At BJP

Congress leader Siddaramaiah took a jibe at BJP and asked – is the post of Chief Minister for sale?

Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Saturday sought to know whether the BJP had offered the Karnataka chief minister’s seat to interested candidates in return for money.

Siddaramaiah has demanded a probe into the allegations leveled by an MLA of the ruling party.

At the same time, he said that power brokers had contacted him. Was asked to pay a bribe of Rs 2,500 crore for the post of Chief Minister.

The demand comes at a time when the Basavaraj Bommai-led government in the state is facing allegations of corruption.

Terming it as a serious issue, Siddaramaiah said the truth will be known only after a proper investigation.

Is the post of Chief Minister a paid seat?  the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly asked in view of the claims made by Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.

BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said that he was approached by some people of Delhi offering him the position of Chief Minister of the state in exchange for 2.5 thousand crores.

However, Yatnal did not name anyone but only said that it was a case of fraud.

The veteran Congress leader said that if the probe is not done, it will mean that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has accepted to pay crores of rupees to become the Chief Minister.

Siddaramaiah said Yatnal’s statement shows that he has a lot of information about the irregularities committed in the BJP and he should be questioned to find out the truth.

The chair is bought through an auction in BJP: Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah said people were under the impression that the legislature party elects the chief minister in the BJP.

Now Yatnal has revealed that CM’s chair is bought through auction. The total amount spent by the former chief ministers of the BJP should also be taken into account.

He also claimed that the prices are fixed for all other posts including the post of minister.

He alleged that there is a link between Yatnal’s allegation and BJP scams, such as 40 percent commission from civil contractors, and police sub-inspector recruitment fraud, which should be probed.
