Finablr Plc, a company of UAE-based Indian-origin businessman BR Shetty, has to sell its business to the Israel-UAE consortium for just one dollar (Rs 73.52).

Shetty’s companies have billions of dollars of debt. Simultaneously, a fraud investigation is being conducted against his company. This is the reason why Finabler’s business is being sold for just Rs 73.

In the year 2019 itself, shares of Shetty’s companies were banned from trading on the stock exchanges. No one was willing to invest in the companies as their credit expired.

In such a situation, the consortium formed between the two countries has decided to take this company.

In December last year, the market value of Finabler’s business fell to 1.5 billion pounds ($ 2 billion), against a billion-dollar debt.

Finbler has announced an agreement with Global Fintech Investments Holding (GFIH). Finabler plc Ltd is selling all its assets to GFIH. GFIH is a subsidiary of Israel’s Prism Group.

Prism Group has formed a consortium with the Royal Strategic Partners of Abu Dhabi regarding the transaction.

According to some reports, BR Shetty went to UAE in the 70s with only eight dollars and started his career as a medical representative there. Shetty started NMC Health in 1970.

He made a lot of money in the healthcare industry. He then started the UAE Exchange in the year 1980.

The UAE Exchange went public in 2018 with Finabler, the UK-based exchange company Travellex and other payment solutions providers.
