On Friday, Netflix gave a big surprise to its fans. Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor’s romantic drama film has been streamed on the platform.

Usually, OTT platforms issue prior information about the arrival of a popular film, but no such information was given regarding Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.

The platform took to social media on Friday to announce that the film has been streamed. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is directed by Abhishek Kapoor.

The film was released in theaters on 10 December, but it did not get a very good response. However, critics praised the film for its subject matter.

Obviously, the film has hit the theaters after completing the window period of 4 weeks. The film completed four weeks of theatrical release on 6 January.

Most of the movies in the country are following a window period of 4 weeks before coming to OTT platforms.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had a net collection of 22.61 crores in the first week of its release.

In the second week of the theatres, the film had to face films like Pushpa – The Rise and Spiderman – No Way Home.

At the same time, after the arrival of 83 in the third week, the challenges of the film increased further. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had a lifetime collection of around 28 crores.

Ayushmann plays Manvinder Munjal aka Manu, the owner of the gym, a bodybuilder who wants to win a local bodybuilding championship as his gym is running at a loss.

Vaani Kapoor is in the custody of Maanvi Brar, who runs a Zumba class, who joins Ayushmann’s gym. As soon as he arrives, the crowd of people taking admission in the gym increases.

Manu and Maanvi start liking each other, but Maanvi has a fact that she is a trans-girl, that is, she has undergone a gender change.

After knowing this, the ground slips under Manu’s feet. From here the story takes a different turn.
