Central Government Plans To Increase Immunization

Central government plans to increase immunization by the end of June, central government starts preparations.

The central government advised states and union territories to plan to increase vaccination coverage by the end of June through available reserves and forecasted supplies.

At the same time, private hospitals were advised not to allow offline vaccine registration, they were advised to make all the registrations online.

The Union Health Ministry reviewed the meeting through video conference with the officials of the states and Union Territories on the progress of vaccination.

He requested them to make full use of all the possibilities available on the Cowin platform to speed up the vaccination campaign. The ministry gave this information in a statement.

According to the statement, the Union Health Ministry has provided the states with the requisite date of supply by June 15 for free availability of vaccines by June 30.

Central government plans to increase immunization: Center has allowed the procurement of vaccine doses directly by the states.

States were advised to form a special team of two or three members for regular coordination with vaccine manufacturers for timely supply of vaccines by means other than the Government of India. 

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan held a digital meeting with the states on the progress of vaccination. States were told that the Russian vaccine Sputnik has also been added to the Cowin portal.

Focus on corona related activities, continue essential services On the other hand, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that pay attention to corona activities.

He also directed states to continue to provide essential services not only to maintain the trust of the people in the health system but also to reduce the risk of loss of life due to other health related conditions.

He made the remarks during a high-level digital discussion on the issue of continuing health services during the Corona crisis, according to a statement from the Health Ministry.

He praised the United Nations Training and Research Institute’s NCD HARO partnership for organizing the Call for Action session for countries on uninterrupted health services for NCDs during the Corona crisis.

This meeting was organized to ensure that patients suffering from non-communicable diseases continue to receive health services during this time of humanitarian crisis.
