Center Again Takes Front To Save Delhi-NCR From Pollution

Center again takes front to save Delhi-NCR from poisonous smoke. The start of the burning of straw and the changes in the weather in the neighboring states including Punjab, Haryana has again raised the concerns of the Center.

Every year a similar situation is created when Delhi and NCR are surrounded by poisonous smoke. Seeing this possibility at the moment, Union Forest and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar have taken the front on Tuesday.

Javadekar convened meeting of environment ministers of neighboring states including Delhi

He has called a virtual meeting of environment ministers of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on October 1. In which there will be discussion on the measures taken by the states to deal with it.

Union Minister Javadekar said on Tuesday that in the northern states of the country, especially in the winter months in Delhi, the problem of air pollution is due to meteorological and geographical reasons.

He also said that the Center, State Governments, and citizens need to work together to fight the threat of air pollution. It is a shared responsibility of all.

Steps taken by states will also be reviewed

Describing the identification of a problem as the first step towards its solution, Javadekar said that PM Modi had launched the Rear Time Air Quality Index in 2016 itself. Which has made it easier to check air quality.

Also informed about the steps taken to tackle air pollution in the last few years. The meeting will be attended by the state environment ministers along with heads of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), local urban bodies and authorities.

Congress is standing with touts: Javedkar

Union Minister Javadekar took a scathing attack on the Congress’s opposition to the agricultural law and said that it had cut off from the public. Congress has forgotten its own promises.

In a discussion with reporters on Tuesday, he also accused the Congress of standing with brokers and said that new laws have come into force. MSP is already announced. Procurement has also started at new rates. Farmers are selling their paddy.
