CBI Probed The Role Of Police And Sent Evidence To Headquarters

CBI probed the role of police and sent evidence to the headquarters, a hearing will be held again today: Hathras case.

During the hearing on Monday in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, the CBI said that after investigating the role of the police in the Hathras case, the evidence has been sent to the headquarters.

The court had asked the CBI whether the role of the local police in the matter was still under investigation. After the response of the CBI, the court has fixed Tuesday for the next hearing.

This order has been passed by a bench of Justice Rajan Roy and Justice Jaspreet Singh on an old PIL filed by taking suo motu cognizance in the Hathras case.

CBI probed the role of police: CBI’s advocate Anurag Kumar Singh told the court that a decision will be taken in 10-15 days regarding the investigation on other aspects.

The court has also asked the counsel for CBI to ensure that the said report is filed in sealed cover at the appropriate time.

Considering the report of District Judge, Hathras during the last hearing, the bench had observed that the statements of 28 out of 104 witnesses in the case have been recorded.

The bench ordered the state government to submit the report of the SIT, which was initially constituted in connection with the case, at the next hearing.

In compliance with the said order, a supplementary affidavit was also filed by the State Government on Monday.

After the gangster case against Mukhtar Ansari, the police have started tightening the noose. Three police teams have been formed to arrest the members of his gang.

There is a total of 13 members in this gang including gangster Mukhtar. Of these, three are in jail, while the rest are away from custody. These include members from Mau, Ghazipur, Prayagraj, and Lucknow.

The property of these accused will be identified under 14(1) of the Gangster Act and action will be taken for confiscation.

The difficulties of Mukhtar Ansari, a native of Yusufpur of Mohammadabad in Ghazipur district and former MLA of Mau, are increasing. Mukhtar has been booked as a gangster in the well-known ambulance case.

All the 12 members of the gang were arrested by the police and sent to jail.

Among them, Mukhtar is already lodged in Banda jail, while the other members are Afroz Khan alias Chunnu of Mohammadabad in Ghazipur and Zafar alias Chanda, a resident of Sadar Road.
