CBI failed to investigate the paper leak case, the court issued a notice.
Even after four years in the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam paper leak case, the CBI has not been able to file a supplementary charge sheet against the ten accused officers and employees.
Expressing displeasure over this, the court has issued a show-cause notice to the CBI.
Along with this, the investigation against the government officials has not yielded any result in four years, which shows the failure of the agency. So why not impose a fine of Rs 20,000?
Actually, SSC had conducted the Combined Graduate Level Examination from 17th to 22nd February 2018.
After the issue of the paper leak of this examination came to light, allegations of corruption were also raised.
CBI failed to investigate the paper leak case: After this, the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.
The CBI had registered the case on May 22, 2018, based on a preliminary investigation of nearly three months.
In this, a case was registered against 10 government officials and employees and 17 other persons.
In this, the CBI had filed a charge sheet against 17 people on August 2, 2019, while the other ten employees had sought time to file the supplementary charge sheet saying that the investigation was not complete.
In this regard, the CBI has also taken a stay order several times.
In January, the special court had given CBI the last chance to complete the probe and file a status report, but the central agency failed to bring out the charge sheet even after two months.
On this, the court of Special Judge Sanjeev Agarwal, located at Rouse Avenue, issued a show-cause notice to the CBI.
