Seven people were killed and dozens injured in an explosion in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Sunday evening. The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.

The blast was so strong that seven buildings were damaged: Fire Department.

A fire department official, Faislur Rahman, said the blast took place in a building in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area. The explosion was so strong that seven nearby buildings were damaged.

Dhaka Deputy Commissioner of Police Sajjad Hussain said experts were working closely and trying to trace the source of the blast. There was also a fast food shop in the building where the blast took place.

50 injured hospitalized, 10 critical.

According to reports, any defect in the gas pipeline or gas cylinders in the shop could have been the reason for the explosion.
