BJP Leader Tejinder Bagga Gets Relief From Punjab-Haryana HC

BJP leader Tejinder Bagga gets relief from Punjab-Haryana High Court and stays on a non-bailable arrest warrant from Mohali court till the next hearing.

BJP leader Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga on Saturday night filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding a non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him by a Mohali court.

In a major relief to Bagga, the High Court has stayed the next hearing till May 10 on the warrant issued against him by the Mohali Court.

Bagga had on Saturday challenged the high court’s late-night non-bailable warrant issued against him by the Mohali court.

Justice Anoop Chitkara of the High Court, while staying the order issued by the Mohali Court, has issued a notice to the Punjab Government and summoned a reply.

Justice Anoop Chitkara, while hearing this petition of Bagga from his house at 12 o’clock, has put this stay.

Senior advocates Chetan Mittal and Anil Mehta, appearing for Bagga, filed a petition in the High Court late last night.

They sought quashing of the arrest warrant issued by the Mohali Court against Bagga and said that this entire matter was only due to political rivalry.

The video for which an FIR has been lodged against Bagga against Arvind Kejriwal has been presented in a distorted manner.

The High Court was told that two petitions are pending in the High Court against Bagga on this subject, which are to be heard on May 10.

Earlier in the day, the Mohali court had ordered the police to arrest Bagga and produce him in the court by May 23.

In fact, on Saturday morning, the Punjab Police filed a petition in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Ravtesh Inderjit Singh in Mohali and presented a copy of the FIR registered against Bagga.

The court was told that in connection with the FIR registered against Bagga in Mohali, five notices were sent to him to join the investigation, but he did not join the investigation.

After hearing the police’s argument, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Bagga.

On the other hand, in the case of the release of Tejinder Singh Bagga by the Delhi Police after being taken into custody.

The Punjab Government has filed an application in the High Court demanding that the Central Government and Delhi Police be made defendants.

Along with this, it has been said that the CCTV footage of Janakpuri in Delhi and Thanesar police station in Haryana should be preserved.

On Friday, the petition filed by the Punjab government alleging that the Punjab Police team was being held hostage illegally, has now demanded the Delhi Police to be made a party to the same petition.

However, on Friday itself, the Delhi Police filed its reply in the High Court.

The Punjab government has said that the CCTV footage of both their police stations needs to be preserved to confirm that their police officers were being held hostage in Haryana and Delhi.

After the application made by the Punjab government, the High Court has adjourned the hearing of this matter till Tuesday (May 10).

It is noteworthy that on May 10, another petition of Bagga is also to be heard in which he has challenged the FIR registered against him.

The High Court, while giving interim relief to Bagga, on April 8, had ordered to be given notice before arresting him in the case.

It is noteworthy that an FIR was registered against Bagga at the cyber police station on April 1. About 25 days ago this case was transferred to Mohali District Police.

A case was registered against him for making provocative statements, promoting hatred in society, and making threats.

Bagga was accused of making objectionable remarks on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s statement regarding the popular film The Kashmir Files.

Mohali DSP City-1 Sukhnaz Singh says that the petition was filed in the Mohali district court. After the developments in Delhi, all the facts were placed before the court.

After which the court issued the arrest warrant for Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga. Sukhnaz Singh, DSP City-1 Mohali.
