The US State Department has included TRF in two important terrorist lists. The US has described ‘The Resistance Front’ as an FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organization) and SDGT (Specially Designated Global Terrorist).

TRF is considered a new form of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which operates from Pakistan. The US said that TRF had taken responsibility for the Pahalgam attack on April 22, in which 26 people were killed.

The US State Department said in its statement that the Pahalgam attack was the biggest terrorist attack in India after the 2008 Mumbai attack. TRF is not only targeting civilians, but it is also attacking Indian security forces.
