BHC Said – If Media Crosses Line, Then Parliament Should Interfere

BHC Said- If media crosses Laxman Rekha, then Parliament should interfere: Sushant Case. The BHC on Friday asked the central government whether there was any mechanism to stop the transmission of news by TV channels before the loss occurred.

Hearing public interest petitions filed for the telecast of TV channels in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the court said, “If the media crosses Laxman Rekha, Parliament should interfere.” Why should the court do this work?

During the hearing on the broadcast of channels in the Sushant case, the Center was questioned

The petitioners have said that media trial is being done in Sushant case. They have demanded a ban on it. The petitioners also include several former IPS officers. A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutt and Justice GS Kulkarni said, “If anything happens, all government officials are deemed to be removed.”

The same happens in the private sectors. People are punished for not behaving properly. The bench said that you have a censor for print media, but you do not appear to be in the mood to do anything about electronic media.

Government should not interfere in freedom of press: Supreme Court

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for the central government, argued that the Supreme Court said that the government should not interfere with the freedom of the press. Instead, the press should be encouraged to have a system of self-regulation.

BHC said – freedom of the press is being most misused at this time

The High Court said that the verdict is for 2012-13. Time has changed. This freedom is being misused the most at this time.

The Supreme Court on Friday asked BJD Lok Sabha member and Oriya film actor Anubhav Mohanty to explore amicable settlement of the marital dispute with his wife actress Varsha Priyadarshini.

The apex court rejected the petition filed by Mohanty, MP from Kendrapara in Odisha, seeking to stop media reporting on their marital dispute. He said that this would adversely affect his constituency.

Bench issued notice to MP husband on wife’s divorce petition

Meanwhile, a bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy issued notice to Mohanty on Priyadarshini’s plea requesting her transfer of the divorce petition filed in a local court in Delhi to Cuttack.

Supreme Court said – search for possibility of resolution of marital dispute

Advocate Ashwani Kumar Dubey, appearing in the court on behalf of the MP, opposed the petition, saying it was untimely. To this, the court said, these two are two high profile people of the film industry. One of these is in politics.

It is better to explore the possibility of resolving the dispute between them. We are issuing notice on the petition and in the meantime try mediation. The court also asked the two to visit the arbitration center of the Supreme Court to explore possibilities of a solution.
