Bharat Biotech Appeals To DCGI: Increase The Duration

Bharat Biotech appeals to DCGI to extend the duration of its vaccine covaxin. Bharat Biotech has now written a letter to the Drugs Controller General of India, DGCI, after releasing the prices of its vaccine covaxin.

Sources said on Sunday that Bharat Biotech has asked the Indian drug regulator to increase the duration of use of Covaxin, an anti-Kovid-19 vaccine, from six months to 24 months.

In an application sent to the Drugs Controller General of India, DGCI, the company said that now we are applying to increase the duration of our vaccine covaxin from six months to 24 months.

The company has stated that the storage of these vaccines requires very low temperatures of 2–8 ° C. Bharat Biotech has also given data in favor of extending the duration of covaccin use.

The DGCI (Drugs Controller General of India, DGCI) in February reduced the usage period of Covishield from six months to nine months since production.

The use of two vaccines has been approved in the vaccination campaign against Corona in India. This includes Covaxin of Bharat Biotech and Vaccine Covishield of Serum Institute of India.

Bharat Biotech appeals to DCGI : In addition, the use of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V has been approved in the country.

Recently, Bharat Biotech announced the prices of its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin. Bharat Biotech had said that it would provide covaxine at Rs 600 per dose (vial) to the state governments.

While the price for private hospitals would be Rs 1,200. Explain that Bharat Biotech is supplying Covaxin at the rate of Rs 150 per dose to the Central Government.
