Bengal Govt Should Answer: Why No-One Wants To Invest In State

Bengal govt should answer why no businessman wants to invest in the state: Anurag Thakur.

Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Anurag Thakur, while targeting the TMC govt of Bengal, said that the state government should answer why businessmen hesitate to invest in Bengal.

In an event organized by direct tax professionals in Kolkata, Thakur said that it is time for Bengal to take a decision. Thakur said, “The Bengal government should answer some questions.

Why is it that businessmen hesitate to invest in the state? Will the corporate be allowed to do business here without any hassle.”

He said that for the progress of the state, it needed to align with the Center. For this the state also needs to recognize its capabilities.

The minister said, “Bengal can overtake many states and be among the top two states. Intellectuals and industrialists of Bengal will have to take a decision in this regard.

Let us tell you that in Bengal this year, the assembly elections will be held in April-May. Thakur’s gesture was somewhere towards elections and through this, he appealed to the people of Bengal for change.

If the Union Minister is an outsider, then who is the inner in Bengal.

Before the assembly elections in Bengal, the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress leaders have been giving external representation to the BJP leaders coming from outside Bengal.

On the issue of an outsider and inner person Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur on Monday lashed out at the Trinamool Congress.

He said that if the Union Minister is being called an outsider in Bengal, then people of which place will be considered as inner.

Describing Bengal as an important part of the country, Thakur asked whether it is a crime for the Union Minister to visit the state.

Thakur, who is on a visit to Kolkata, told reporters at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here.

“If the Indian government minister coming to Bengal is called an outsider, then I want to ask which place people are considered inner.”

Thakur came to see BCCI President Sourav Ganguly admitted in a private hospital in Kolkata.

He went to the hospital and met Sourav and wished him well soon. Earlier, he said that Bengal has given the country unique talent in many fields.
