Bengal Assembly By-Election: BJP Starts Preparations

Bengal Assembly By-Election: BJP starts preparations for Bengal Assembly by-election, which may bring down many new faces.

At present, the BJP has started preparations for the Assembly (Vis) by-election in Bengal, even though it does not want it. Because the by-election bell may ring before Durga Puja.

Trinamool Congress is trying to hold the by-election as soon as possible, while the BJP has been saying to postpone it, for the time being, citing Corona.

But wants to make parallel preparations for it so that a sudden by-election is announced, but it does not lag behind in this matter.

Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh said- ‘Corona cases are increasing. Schools and colleges are closed.

How can there be a by-election at such a time?’ However, along with this, Ghosh also said- ‘If the Election Commission wants to hold a by-election considering the current situation of Corona, then we are ready for it.’

Sources have revealed that the central leadership of the BJP has directed the Bengal unit to start preparations for the by-polls.

It has also been learned that except for one or two seats, the BJP can field new faces on the rest.

Taking lessons from the defeat in the last Bengal elections, the BJP will be very careful in selecting the candidates.

Significantly, by-elections are to be held in Shamsherganj, Jangipur, Bhawanipur, Khardah, Shantipur, Dinhata, and Gosaba.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bengal had informed the Central Election Commission recently that it is all set to hold a by-election in the state.

On Wednesday, the officials of the Central Election Commission held an urgent meeting through video conferencing with the Deputy Chief Electoral Officers of seven states including Bengal.

Bengal Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi was also involved in the meeting. In it, it was said on behalf of the CEO’s office that there is no problem in holding Viss by-elections in Bengal at this time.

At present, voting can be done within 24 days after the announcement of the election.

On behalf of the CEO’s office, it was further said that delay may cause inconvenience as there are holidays for Durga Puja ahead.
