Bangladesh Border: BSF thwarted smuggling and seized 3.07 lakh cigarettes.

Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier jawans have seized cigarettes worth Rs 3.07 lakh, thwarting smuggling near the India-Bangladesh border in the Nadia district of Bengal.

An attempt was made to smuggle cigarettes into the border post of Horandipur, 54th Corps in Bangladesh.

On February 20, a statement issued by the BSF said that a special ambush was carried out by the jawans on the information of smuggling of cigarettes from the intelligence wing of BSF from the border area of ​​Horandipur.

Around 23:30 in the night, the jawans saw suspicious activities of some persons who were moving towards the border road carrying two plastic bags.

As soon as they got close to the ambush party, the ambush party warned them.

Hearing the warning, the smugglers started running. The soldiers chased them but they managed to escape by taking advantage of the dark and thick bushes.

Upon intensive search of the surrounding area, two bags of cigarettes were recovered, which were brought to the border post-Maluapara.

The recovered cigarettes include 450 packets of ESSE brand and 2900 packets of Luvin brand. Its total value is Rs 3,07,500.

The seized cigarettes have been handed over to the Banpur Customs Authority for further legal proceedings.

Significantly, to prevent smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force is taking tough steps.

Because of which smugglers are experiencing difficulties in carrying out their activities in the border area. Many of them are being caught and punished for committing crimes.
