When Union Minister Shekhawat reached Chetla police station to file a report of the incident, it is alleged that Trinamool workers started targeting the vehicles of his convoy.

Three to four vehicles were damaged in the attack. Also, more than 500 Trinamool workers surrounded the police station. The disturbance lasted for one-and-a-half hours.

Many senior BJP workers have been injured. Later, an additional police force was called and the Union Minister was taken out from there and taken to the destination amidst tight security.

It is alleged that before that Trinamool activists also attacked the walking rally of BJP candidate Rudranil Ghosh from the Bhawanipur seat. Ghosh suffered minor injuries in this.
