Atrocities Against Hindus in Pakistan: Three Hindu youths were abducted in Pakistan’s Punjab province by armed criminals demanding police release their gang members. They are constantly being tortured. Another such case has come to light. In Punjab province, criminals kidnapped three Hindus on Wednesday and in return demanded the police to release their people. The incident happened 400 kilometers southwest of Lahore in the Rahim Yar Khan district.
Shaman, Sameer, and Sajan were standing near a square in the Bhong area when five armed criminals arrived. They kidnapped them at gunpoint. The gang leader Aashiq Korai released a video message addressed to the officer of Ahmedpur Lama police station, warning him to release 10 members of his family or else he would kill the Hindu youths.
They will also attack the police. In the video, all the Hindu youths were seen tied in chains and were appealing to the authorities for their release. Twelve police officers were killed and seven injured when some criminals attacked two police cars in the Kacha region of the Rahim Yar Khan division last year.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters on Thursday abducted 16 workers associated with Pakistan’s uranium and plutonium mining in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. The TTP fighters stopped a vehicle carrying the workers in the Lakki Marwat district, forcibly alighted the workers at gunpoint, and set the vehicle on fire.
The mining project in which these workers worked belongs to the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, officials said. Eight of the 16 mine workers who were kidnapped have been freed by Pakistani security forces. Security officials said three of the eight rescued workers were injured during the fierce gunfight, one of whom is in critical condition.
The firing took place on the border of Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan districts when the kidnappers were trying to take the captives to North Waziristan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has strongly condemned the kidnapping and called it an unacceptable act. Meanwhile, TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khurasani issued a statement claiming that the workers were kidnapped not to harm them but to press for demands.
He urged the Pakistani government to seriously consider their demands to avoid armed retaliation and prevent loss of life and property. Let us tell you, that a few days ago, Pakistan carried out air strikes on TTP camps in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province. The Afghan Taliban had strongly criticized it. Since then, tension has remained in the region.
