Assam And Meghalaya CMs To Meet Amit Shah Today

Assam and Meghalaya CMs to meet Shah today over a border dispute.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday said that he along with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday.

During this, he will submit recommendations to the Home Minister to resolve the border dispute between the two states.

Earlier, the Meghalaya cabinet approved the recommendations of three regional committees set up by the government to resolve the border dispute.

There is a border dispute between the two states at six places.

It is noteworthy that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that a blueprint for an amicable solution has been prepared in six areas of the border dispute with Meghalaya.

He said that both the state governments have found a way out through consultations at the top level.

After talks with the political parties of the state on the Assam-Meghalaya border dispute, Sarma had tweeted that our efforts to resolve the Assam-Meghalaya border dispute Brought color.

In the first phase, six of the 12 contentious areas have been marked for settlement.

The Chief Minister said that the areas which have been selected for final settlement in the first phase include Hahim, Gijang, Tarabari, Boklapara, Khanapara-Pilingkata, and Ranchera.

Sarma said that a roadmap for an amicable solution has been prepared based on the recommendations of three regional committees comprising representatives of both states.

After several rounds of Chief Minister level talks on this issue, we have reached this stage.
