India’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin created history in Test cricket. Reached this feat only after taking the wicket of Jack Crawley on the second day against England.

Ashwin became the second-fastest bowler to take 500 wickets in Tests. He became the second bowler after Anil Kumble to take 500 Test wickets for India.

Ashwin, popularly known as Anna in the world of cricket, did what only former Indian captain Anil Kumble had done.

In the first innings of the Rajkot Test against England, Ashwin took his first wicket and took his 500th wicket in Test cricket.

He became the second Indian bowler to do so, but in one case he left Jumbo i.e. Anil Kumble behind.

Ashwin became the second-fastest international player to take 500 wickets in Tests. Ashwin left Anil Kumble behind. Former Indian captain Anil Kumble had completed 500 wickets in 105 Test matches.

Whereas, it took 98 test matches for Ashwin to reach this achievement. At the forefront is Sri Lanka’s legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, he did this feat in 87 test matches only.
