Anti-national Slogans raised Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid

Anti-national slogans were raised in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid. Conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid with anti-national slogans, 13 accused arrested.

In Kashmir’s oldest and biggest Jamia Masjid, separatists are again active and plotting to spoil the atmosphere.

On Friday, pro-Pakistan elements raised anti-national slogans on the mosque premises after the prayers of Ramzan and Juma. Stones were also pelted at the security forces outside the mosque.

Located in Nowhatta Chowk in the Down Town of Srinagar, this mosque has been opened for Namaz in the month of March itself. Earlier, Namaz was not being held due to the Covid protocol.

By registering a case, the police have arrested 13 accused involved in this case and started tracking the elements who raised slogans.

Friday was the first Zuma since the month of Ramadan began. The administration had made tight security arrangements in the area outside the mosque.

The situation remained completely calm till the prayer, but as soon as the prayer was over, some mischievous elements started raising slogans of independence.

Slogans were also raised in support of terrorist Zakir Musa. Many Namazis also recorded it on their mobile. Meanwhile, some mischievous elements tried to take out a procession outside the mosque.

When the security personnel stopped them, they started pelting stones. Seeing the situation deteriorating, the security forces also chased them away using mild force.

Anti-national slogans have been raised in Jamia Masjid for the first time since August 5, 2019.

All-Party Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Maulvi Umar Farooq used to give Khutba before Namaz every Friday till August 5, 2019, in this mosque.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh had this mosque closed during his rule in the 19th century. It was later opened by Maharaja Gulab Singh.

Market Committee condemned: Jamia Masjid Market Committee and Nowhatta Market Association condemned the provocative slogans in strong words.

Committee said that today is the first Juma of Ramzan and this occasion has been used by some people here to spoil the atmosphere and for their politics. Strict action should be taken against them.
