Andhra Pradesh govt adamant on conducting 12th board exam filed an affidavit in Supreme Court.

At a time when almost all education boards, including CBSE, have canceled the 12th board exams due to the corona infection, the Andhra Pradesh government is adamant about conducting the board exams.

The state government on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that it will successfully conduct the Class XII board examinations as there are no reliable alternatives for the evaluation of state board students.

Andhra Pradesh govt said – 12th class examination will be held in the last week of July.

The state government said that it will likely conduct the class 12th examination in the last week of July and the schedule of the examination in this regard will be released soon.

In the affidavit filed through State Standing Counsel Mahfouz A. Nazki, the state government said that the cases of Covid-19 are decreasing rapidly in the state.

The state government said that as of June 20, there were 5,646 cases of Covid-19 in the state. The number of infection cases on 21 June was 5,541 and on 22 June 4,169.

Then comparing with these dates of the previous month, there were 22,610 cases of infection on 20 May, 20,937 on 21 May, and 19,981 on 22 May.

On the advice of experts, the government said – it would be practical to conduct the examination

The government said, “Experts have been consulted and they believe that it would be practical to conduct the examination.”

Accordingly, the state government will try to conduct the examinations in the last week of July.

If someone dies, we will hold the state responsible: Supreme Court.

The top court is hearing petitions seeking a direction to the state governments not to conduct board examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, the court had said, “If anyone dies, we will hold the state responsible.”

The apex court’s remarks came after it was told that the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to conduct the board exams.
