Andhra CM announces Rs 50 lakh assistance to the family of Maruprolu Jaswant Reddy martyred in J&K encounter.

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the family of constable Maruprolu Jaswant Reddy.

Maruprolu Jaswant Reddy was martyred during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to the bravery of the jawan who was martyred during an encounter and said that Reddy’s martyrdom is a matter of pride.

CM Reddy also directed the officials to extend all possible help to the family of Bahadur, who hails from the Guntur district of the state.

The CM was on a tour of the Kadapa district when he came to know about Reddy’s sacrifice.

Let us tell you that on Thursday, two Pakistani terrorists were killed by the Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, thwarting a major infiltration bid.

A defense spokesperson said that two soldiers, including Reddy and Naib Subedar Sreejith M, were killed in the encounter with the terrorists.

Lakshadweep administration did not allow Congress MPs to come, said- there may be an attempt to ‘disturb the peaceful atmosphere

The Lakshadweep administration has refused permission to Congress MPs Hibi Eden and TN Pratapan to visit the islands.

The administration has said that his visit “for political activities” would disturb the peaceful atmosphere.

Denying permission to enter, the administration on Saturday termed the visit as a planned attempt to “disturb the peaceful atmosphere” in Lakshadweep and said it could lead to a rise in the number of corona cases here.

The administration further said that the purpose of the visit of the MPs appears to be a ‘political action’ to understand the problems faced by the islanders due to the new policies of the administration.

Last month, there was an uproar against Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel over the new reforms introduced by him.

This is said to be against the interest of the islanders. People are protesting other draft laws like Lakshadweep Prevention of Anti-Social Activity Regulation (Gonda Act).
