Ammonia Gas Leaks From Dairy Plant In Andhra Pradesh

Ammonia gas leaks from dairy in Andhra Pradesh, 14 people unconscious, three in critical condition. A case of Gas Leak has come to know in the dairy plant of Chittoor. The condition of 14 laborers working in the company started deteriorating due to poisonous gas, who have been admitted to the hospital.

Ammonia gas leaked on Thursday at a milk dairy in Bandapalli in Putlapattu mandal under Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Pradesh), leaving 12 people unconscious. All have been admitted to the hospital. Dr Narayan Bharat Gupta, collector of Chittoor district, told that there was a leak of ammonia gas in the milk processing unit of Hatson company near Putalapattu.

The 14 laborers working in that shift have been brought to the hospital in Chittoor, of which three are in critical condition. They can be shifted to SVIMS or Ruia hospital in Tirupati. All women are affected by gas leaks. Everyone’s condition is stable. Dr. Gupta said that it is not yet known whether the incident is the result of the negligence of management or negligence of workers.

The General Manager of the Department of Industries and officers of the Fire Department will visit the spot. Minister P. Ramachandra Reddy talked to the District Collector of Chittoor and inquired about the incident. Orders have been ordered to investigate the matter. The government has given instructions for better treatment of the affected people.

In the month of May, 11 people died and hundreds became ill after a gas leak (Visakhapatnam Gas Leak Accident) at a chemical factory near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Environmentalists had advised that all people should be immediately removed from the area around the factory in Visakhapatnam from which the styrene gas has leaked. In 2018, six people died due to leakage of carbon mono oxide at a steel factory in Anantapur district.
