For the last few days, there were reports that Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan is ready for his digital debut. It has now been confirmed.

Ajay is starting a digital shift from the crime drama series of Hotstar Specials, titled ‘Rudra- The Edge of Darkness’.

The special thing is that Ajay will be seen as a police officer in this series, which will be different from his co-incarnations till now. The series will be streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP.

Work on the series will start soon and it will be shot at the iconic locations in Mumbai. The series is being produced by Apple Entertainment and BBC Studios.

Regarding his digital debut, Ajay said – It has always been my endeavor to do the best work with able people. Rudra – The Age of Darkness is a captivating story and I am eagerly looking forward to the beginning of this journey.

It is not new to me to play the role of a cop on the screen, but this time the character is darker, tougher, and darker. I was most impressed by the personality of this character. Probably this is the grayest character in the current era.

Ajay has already made his debut on the OTT platform as a producer. His home production film Tribhang was released on Netflix, in which Kajol played the lead role.

Let me tell you, on Monday, Ajay shared a teaser via social media, in which he said that he is going to make a big announcement tomorrow (Tuesday).

Ajay Devgan OTT Debut: Adaptation of the British series is Rudra.

Rudra – The Age of Darkness is an Indian adaptation of the British Psychological Crime drama series Luther. Idlis Elba played DCI John Luther in the Neil Cross Created series.

Alice Morgan was in the role of Ruth Wilson. It has had five seasons between 2010 and 2019. The first season had 6 episodes. It was broadcast on BBC One.

Sunil Ryan, president and head of Disney Plus Hotstar, said that Rudra is being built on a large scale. No such stories have been shown in the country so far.

It is being built keeping in mind the metro as well as the rest of the country. Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment said that Rudra – The Age of Darkness is our biggest show, with Ajay Devgan in the lead role.

Rudra – The Age of Darkness will be released this year. At the same time, Ajay’s film Bhuj – The Pride of India is also going to be released this year on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP.
