According to Arizona’s Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC), the crashed twin-engine Cessna C340 aircraft belonged to Dr. Sugata Das, who was working at the institute.
He was also a trained pilot. A TV station affiliated with CBS-NBC said it was not yet confirmed whether Das was the pilot of the plane at the time of the accident.

According to the FAA, ‘the number of people on board the plane is not yet known.’ The Cessna C 340 aircraft can seat six passengers.
Born in a Bengali family, Das grew up in Pune, according to the institute’s website. He was also the director of the Power of Love Foundation.
