Air Force’s strength was shown in these five films. From ‘Aradhana’ to ‘Gunjan Saxena’, On October 8, the Indian Airforce is celebrating its 88th Foundation Day celebrations. Indian Air Force was established on this day in the year 1932.

In this way, this day is celebrated as Air Force Day. Talking of the Air Force, it has also been a part of Indian films. Since independence, many such films have been made to-date, in which the Air Force’s strength is shown. Let’s know about five such films

Aradhana – In the year 1969, Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore starrer film Aradhana has the strength of the Air Force. In the hit film Aradhana of his time, Rajesh Khanna played an Indian Air Force officer named Arun Verma.

The special thing is that Sujit Kumar was seen as the co-pilot. The film was well-received in Soviet Russia besides India.

Vijeeta – In 1983, Shashi Kapoor appeared in the film Winner along with his son Kunal Kapoor. Directed by Govind Nihalani, the film featured some real aircraft of the time. It was considered a big achievement in that period. It featured MiG-21 and MiG-21 Baisen. The special thing is that both planes played an important role in the 1971 war.

Hindustan ki Kasam – Air Force was used extensively in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. On this plot Chetan Anand made a film called Kasam of Hindustan. In this film, Raj Kumar played the lead role. This story is completely based on the Airforce. Raj Kumar also appeared in the role of a pilot.

Border- If the name of the border is not taken in war films, the list remains incomplete. JP Dutta’s film is based on the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The story is shown by the army. But in the end, there is an Air Force entry and the post is saved. In this, Jackie Shroff was praised as the Air Force Officer.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl – A film came out in the year 2020, which is based on the Air Force pilot. Jahnavi Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi starrer film depict the story of Pilot Gunjan Saxena. Gunjan was the first female pilot to work in the war zone. However, there was some controversy about the film. Air Force objected to some scenes.
