AIADMK Nervous As Sasikala Returns To Politics

AIADMK nervous as Sasikala returns to politics, C Ponnaiyan says she has no relation with party.

A few days ago, an audio leak of Sasikala, an aide of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, hinted at her return to politics. After this audio surfaced, there has been uneasiness in the AIADMK.

On Saturday, party leader C Ponnaiyan clarified that Sasikala has no relation with AIADMK but with the AMMK party and she has no right to revive AIADMK.

He claimed that Sasikala is not a member of his party as she belongs to TTV Dinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK). He also said that Sasikala does not have the right to revive the AIADMK.

Expelled AIADMK leader Sasikala had announced her retirement from politics in March ahead of the assembly elections.

AIADMK nervous as Sasikala returns to politics: After this, audio of her was leaked last month in which he was heard talking to a party worker about returning to politics.

Ponnaiyan said, “Sasikala is not a member of our party. She belongs to TTV Dinakaran’s group. She has no right to say that she is going to revive AIADMK. Whoever is talking to Sasikala, they do not belong to AIADMK.

Earlier, on May 30, Sasikala had indicated a return to active politics after the corona pandemic was over.

In an audio clip of a phone conversation between Sasikala and a party cadre that went viral on social media, the leader was heard confirming his plans to return to politics.

The phone call was confirmed by Janardhan, personal assistant to AMMK general secretary TTV Dinakaran.

During the phone call, Sasikala was heard telling the cadre, “Don’t worry, I will definitely sort out the party things. Everyone be brave.

Once the corona pandemic is over, I will be back.” To this, the cadre replied saying, ‘We will follow you Amma.’

Earlier in March, the expelled AIADMK leader had announced her retirement from politics and issued a statement saying she would “dissociate herself from politics”.

She had said in his statement, “I distanced myself from politics and prayed for the golden rule of my goddess Akka (Jayalalithaa).”

Sasikala was living in the T Nagar area of Chennai after returning to the city in February after completing her four-year jail term in a disproportionate assets case.

After Jayalalithaa’s death in December 2016, Sasikala was elected AIADMK general secretary.

She handed over the reins of the party to his nephew T T V Dinakaran after she was convicted in a disproportionate assets case in February 2017.

Edappadi Palaniswami was made chief minister with her support, but in 2017 Sasikala and T T V Dhinakaran were ousted after a rival faction led by A Panneerselvam.
