Afghan Government Conceded Defeat In Front Of Taliban

Afghan government conceded defeat in front of Taliban, preparations to hand over power peacefully in President’s Palace.

The Taliban is gaining control of Afghanistan at a very fast pace. Reuters quoted the Afghan Interior Ministry as saying that the Taliban have started infiltrating the Afghan capital Kabul from all sides.

They have taken possession of the roads leading to Kabul. At the same time, the Taliban has issued a statement saying that they have no intention of forcibly entering Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

Earlier on Sunday, the Taliban seized the city of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, one of the country’s largest cities, cutting off Kabul from the country’s eastern side.

Kabul Lamet is now under the control of Afghanistan’s Ashraf Ghani government, with only seven of the country’s 34 provincial capitals remaining.

Afghan government conceded defeat: AP quoted an Afghan official as saying that Taliban negotiators are going to Afghanistan’s President’s house to prepare for the transfer of power.

According to Tolo News, Afghanistan’s acting Interior Minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal said that the capital Kabul will not be attacked, everything will happen peacefully.

He assured the residents of Kabul that the security forces would ensure the security of the city.

A former top senior adviser to the Ashraf Ghani government confirmed the news of Jalalabad’s fall, expressing hope that the Taliban would not harm civilians in the province.

On Saturday, Ashraf Ghani chaired a coordination meeting with the officials. During this, he was briefed about the security of Kabul and neighboring provinces.

As reported by Tolo News, the meeting was attended by US charge d’affaires Ras Wilson and US Army Commander and both expressed their support for Afghan forces.

Let us tell you that before the withdrawal of American and NATO forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban has been occupying the country from all sides.

The Taliban took control of large parts of Afghanistan in the last week, after which the pressure on the central government of Afghanistan has increased.

On the other hand, America, Britain, and Canada have sent troops to help their diplomatic staff present there.

Afghanistan’s fourth-largest city, Mazar-e-Sharif, was captured by the Taliban on Saturday after an all-out attack, with extremists taking control of entire northern Afghanistan.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani while addressing the nation on Saturday said that we will not let the achievements of 20 years go to waste.

This is his first public remark since the Taliban seized key areas in recent days.
