Additional DG of JKP checked the security of MA Stadium. Additional Director General of Police SD Singh Jamwal checked the security of MA Stadium.
SD Singh Jamwal, Additional Director General of Police, Security Wing of Jammu, and Kashmir Police held a meeting with officials of various security agencies.
The meeting was held to finalize the security arrangements at MA Stadium, the main venue of Republic Day.
During the meeting, officers of all departments were asked to extend their cooperation to celebrate the function in a peaceful and orderly manner.
Additional DG of JKP asked all the departments to work in coordination among themselves.
He discussed with the security forces on making adequate security arrangements, people sitting, following the Corona rules, vehicle parking, decorating the stadium, cleanliness, speedy exchange of information.
Police interrogated eight Kashmiri people by taking them to the police station. Before Republic Day, the police and security forces are keeping an eye on every square and intersection.
On Sunday, the Vijaypur Police caught Kashmiri people living on rent in Ward 8 of the town and took them to the police station for questioning.
After interrogating them, the addresses of all were recorded and they were released.
The Vijaypur Police under the leadership of SDPO Lavkaran Taneja carried out this action. All Kashmiris have come to Vijaypur in search of work.
The SDPO said that there will be no relaxation of any kind before Republic Day. In such a situation, the police are also collecting information about the people of other states living in the area.
Police say that if anyone sees any suspicious activity in the area, they should immediately inform the police. The names of such people will be kept secret.
Three days before Republic Day, security agencies were alerted after three suspects were spotted in a car on the Jammu Pathankot National Highway.
However, when the security forces stopped the car and checked it, no suspicious person or activity was found there.
Jammu Samba Kathua Range DIG Vivek Gupta said security forces are on high alert along the Pathankot-Jammu NH to thwart the plans of terrorists ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
