Recently Anupriya Patel, MP from Mirzapur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, accused the makers of ‘Mirzapur’ of tarnishing the image of the city, and demanded that the web series be censored.
After Anupriya, now Hindi novel writer Surendra Mohan Pathak has objected to a scene in the series and also warned to take legal action against the author of ‘Mirzapur’.
Pathak says that his book ‘Dabbha’ has been misrepresented in the series. He says that the scene in the series should be removed immediately or else the writer, producer, and actor of the series who was reading ‘Dabba’ will take strict action against them.
Actually, in the third episode of ‘Mirzapur 2’, there is a scene in which Abhineta Kulbhushan Kharbanda who played the role of Satyananda Tripathi is reading a novel named Dhabbad.
During the scene reading the novel, some lines are heard, which makes it seem that these lines have nothing to do with the novel. While the author alleges that the voiceover going on showing Upanayjas is obscene, it has nothing to do with this novel.
The author alleges that this has tarnished the image of him and his novel ‘.
Pathak has sent a notice to the manufacturers of Mirzapur seeking a reply within a week. According to the mid-day news, the author says that I am waiting for his response, if no reply is received in a week, I will file a case against the makers in the Delhi High Court.
Recently the most awaited web series ‘Mirzapur 2’ has been released on Amazon Prime. After the immense success of ‘Mirzapur’, its second part has been released on 23 October.
