Know, what is the importance of Chhari Mubarak in Amarnath Yatra, worship starting from July 10. Amarnath Yatra and Chhari Mubarak are one of the major religious events of Indian Hinduism. It is especially organized in Kashmir. According to the Sanatan tradition, rituals like Bhoomi Pujan, Navgrah Pujan and ‘Dhwajarohan’ for the annual Chhari Mubarak pilgrimage-2025 of Shri Amareshwar Dham will be held on Thursday, July 10 at the Shiva temple located on the banks of Lidder in Pahalgam on the auspicious occasion of Ashadh-Purnima (Vyas-Purnima).
With this, according to Sanatan and religious beliefs, the pilgrimage of Shri Amareshwar Dham will be started. On August 4, with the blessings of Mahant Dipendra Giri, the holy Chhari Mubarak of Shri Amareshwar Dham will depart from its base at Dashnami Akhara in Srinagar and proceed towards the revered cave shrine.

Chhari Mubarak 2025: The annual pilgrimage is traditionally believed to commence on the auspicious occasion of Vyas Purnima.
According to religious beliefs, the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amareshwar Dham is believed to start from the day of Vyas Purnima. According to Mahant Dipendra Giri, the head of Dashnami Akhara and the custodian of the holy Chhari Mubarak, this year Ashadh-Purnima, also known as Vyas Purnima, is on July 10. Therefore, the pilgrimage to Shri Amareshwar Dham will commence on the same day and Thursday, at Pahalgam, where Lord Shiva abandoned his beloved vehicle and companion Nandi, there will be rituals of Bhoomi Pujan, Navgrah Pujan, and flag hoisting on the banks of Lidder. He said that after completing these rituals, we will return to Dashnami Akhara here in Srinagar.
The Pahalgam route holds special spiritual significance in the Amarnath Yatra.
The importance of pilgrimage to Shri Amareshwar Dham, which is called by the name as the holy cave of Shri Amarnath, is from the Pahalgam route only. The Yatra’s initial and primary base camp is Pahalgam. In response to a question concerning the sacred Chhari Mubarak, a manifestation of Shiva-Shakti, traveling to Shri Amareshwar Dham, he stated that on July 24 and 25, Chhari Mubarak would be brought to the ancient Shankaracharya temple and Sharika Bhavani temple, respectively. The Chhari Sthapana rites would thereafter be carried out in the Shri Amareshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara Srinagar on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Chhari Mubarak will leave for Pahalgam on the 4th of August
The traditional holy Chhari Puja will be performed at Dashnami Akhara Srinagar on the auspicious occasion of ‘Naag-Panchami’ on 29th July. On August 4, Chhari Mubarak would go to Pahalgam. On the way, Chhari Mubarak will go to all the major pilgrimage places for worship and will rest in Pahalgam on the 4th and 5th of August.
After taking a night’s rest at Chandanwadi on 6th August, Sheshnag on 7th August, and Panchtarni on 8th August, Chhari Mubarak will enter Amareshwar Dham on the auspicious occasion of ‘Shravan-Purnima’ on 9th August. On the same day, worship and main darshan of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati will be held at Shri Amareshwar Dham. After this, Chhari Mubarak will return and the pilgrimage will be concluded.
